Pair of George III Bronze and Marble Griffin Candlesticks

This pair of patinated bronze, ormolu, and marble candlesticks are in the famous Chamberlain's pattern. They are of the most beautiful, and elegant neoclassic designs.
In 1791 Sir William Chambers illustrated a related design for 'a griffin' candlestick in his treatise on 'The Decorative Part of Civil Architecture'. A matching pair of these candlesticks is in the collection at Harewood House, Yorkshire.
